ECS Wrestling Pins Down
Their First Team Victory

This year, the Sentinel Wrestling Team entered their third year of competition and have overcome many of the growing pains of a young sports program. What is the most notable challenge? That would be Growing a team from zero to fourteen committed and enthousiastic competitors.

On the mat, individual victories count 6 points for a team and are calculated in 14 different weight classes. The Sentinels have more wrestlers than either of their first 2 seasons, but still have 3 weight classes that are vacant, which results in the forfeit of 18 points each match. Despite that disadvantage, they pinned down their first team victory on December 13 in their duel match with Gateway Charter and took an important step in becoming competitive in team play.

The Sentinels take on East Lee High School on December 20th and then return to action on January 12th against Baron Collier.
